Our
30th Reunion - the Weekend of October 16, 17, & 18:
Friday
night some of us went to BT's. Joe Abercrombie
and his friends have stayed very close over all these years.
To my knowledge they are the only ones. So Joe convinced
all his friends to come to the reunion and they were planning
to meet up at BTs. D.R. Barton, Rob Middleton, Bob Smead,
Kevin Lyle, Andy Cook, Todd Allerton, Mark Barta and a few
others I'm not remembering. Several of us went early and
had dinner there. Then we gathered downstairs in the bar
area. Carlo Lomoscalo showed up - always a trip. There was
a guy and girl sitting at the bar. She kept looking at me
and laughing. I knew I knew her, but had absolutely no idea
who she was. Turned out to be Regina (Duncan) Knowles. Too
many people kept buying too many rounds. Lots of laughter
and fun!

Saturday morning about 20 or so of us showed
up for coffee and pastries in the school cafeteria. It's
amazing how "place" can assist in surfacing memories.
We told lots of stories. The teachers who showed up were
Alice Gallimore (Phys. Ed.) and Bill Bondurant (Band Director).
The Principle of the middle school gave us a tour. Some
people actually remembered which locker they had. We laughed
and laughed. A couple of people brought their kids. Todd
Allerton's baby girl. Tom Rockewell's daughter and son.
Tom's 3 1/2 year old son pulled the fire alarm. It was hysterical.
The alarm was so loud we had to leave the building. But
that gave us the opportunity to tour the middle school and
several of the other new facilities. I never thought I'd
ever be in the locker room where the guys got ready for
football games. It was a great time. I'm so glad that Suzen
thought of it.

In the afternoon a few of us headed to
Sinkland Farms for the pumpkin festival. We got to take
the kids. Joe Abercrombie and Wayne Frye are in a bluegrass
band called the Java Brothers and they were performing from
3 to 5. There is a corn maze, pumpkin pickin', ice cream,
and a petting zoo. It was cold and windy. We thought we
were going to freeze. Not sure how the guys were playing
- their hands had to be frozen. Mindy Hall showed up and
decided to join us for the evening.

Saturday night we all got dressed up. Suzen
had arranged for the place to be beautifully decorated.
We had a D.J. and a cash bar. It was so fun seeing people
like Adrian Swan and Carmen Hendricks (now engaged), Tony
Shepheard and his wife of 25 years, Chad and Michele (Cook)
King . . . the list just goes on. I think the final number
was around 65. We ate. We danced. We mingled. We took lots
of photos. So many people reconnected. A bunch of people
went to Sharkey's afterwards. The word from Carlo is they
left around 2 a.m. (yikes!)

morning we said our last goodbyes at Sharkeys for
breakfast. It was fairly subdued. We were all tired from
the previous events.
